Conducting Airway

The conducting airways are lined by pseudostratified, ciliated epithelium that rest on top of thick basement membrane. The lamina propria is beneath the basement membrane that contains connective tissue and blood vessels. A layer of smooth muscle separates the lamina propria from the submucosa. The submucosa contains a large number of seromucinous glands. How do each of these layers change as the airway proceeds deeper into the lung?
