Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease and is caused by a progressive loss of hyaline cartilage on the articular surface of bones. Vertical fissures in the cartilage result from degradation of collagen and eventually lead to sloughing of portions of cartilage into the joint.
