Golgi

Like the smooth ER, the Golgi stains poorly by H&E, but can occasionally be seen as a pale staining region on one side of the nucleus. The Golgi is particularly prominent in cells synthesizing large amounts of glycoproteins and proteoglycans, such as goblet cells that produce mucous in the gut epithelium.
